Dean R. Johnson, PG #PG005214
Dean R. Johnson is a Senior Geologist at Creek Run. Dean leads Creek Run’s Pennsylvania office, located in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. Dean earned a B.S. in Geology from University of Pittsburgh in 2008. Dean is a licensed Professional Geologist (#PG005214) in Pennsylvania. He has completed 40 hour HAZWOPER training and attends yearly refresher courses.
Dean’s duties at Creek Run include client development, preparing project scopes of work (SOW) and cost proposals, project management, site characterization and remediation, and reporting. He has performed subsurface investigations to define the nature and extent of impacted materials using the Land Recycling Program (Act 2) and the Storage Tank Cleanup Program regulatory guidelines. Dean has experience in the development and implementation of Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Site Characterization Reports (SCRs), Remedial Action Plans (RAPs), Remedial Action Progress Reports (RAPRs), Remedial Action Completion Reports (RACRs), Remedial Investigation Reports (RIs), Risk Assessment Reports (RAs), Remedial Investigation Work Plans (RIWPs), and Act 2 Final Reports. Dean has been involved with numerous remedial action implementations including: over-excavations, remedial system installations and operations, chemical injections, and monitored natural attenuation. He also has experience with supervising data collection at various sites, conducting and supervising data evaluation efforts, and frequently interacting with regulatory agencies to discuss project objectives and goals. Dean has experience completing remediation projects in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, New Jersey, and New York.
Prior to joining Creek Run, Dean worked as a Project Manager and a Project Geologist at two other environmental firms located in southwestern Pennsylvania over an 8 year period.
Dean has one child, a daughter named Ella. Dean enjoys hiking, backpacking and fishing in his spare time.
