Mary Hile is the Director of Operations at Creek Run. She joined the Creek Run team in September 2002. Mary earned a B.S. in Natural Resources and Environmental Management from Ball State University in May 2002. While attending Ball State University, Mary made the dean’s list every semester and graduated cum laude. Mary has completed 40 hour HAZWOPER training.  She is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM #14525),  a licensed well driller in Indiana, and certified by the State of Indiana in underground storage tank decommissioning.

As the Director of Operations, Mary oversees the Operations and Corporate Support Groups with a staff totaling 18 employees. Mary finds ways to improve Creek Run’s efficiency and quality throughout the organization. Mary plays a significant role in increasing the effectiveness of Corporate Support and Operations Groups and works closely with senior staff and department heads. Mary is responsible for project cost estimating, proposal preparation, and managing project budgets. Mary also provides quality control by reviewing complex technical reports prepared by the entire Creek Run staff.

Mary has extensive experience in project oversight for environmentally impaired sites in Indiana and Ohio. Mary has performed numerous subsurface investigations to define the nature and extent of impacted materials using Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST), Risk Integrated System of Closure (RISC), and Remediation Closure Guide (RCG) regulatory guidelines. She has developed detailed work plans for soil and groundwater investigations, prepared bid specifications for investigation and remedial projects, and coordinated subcontractor selection and scheduling. Mary personally directs field sample collections and analysis operations at complex, high priority sites and provides training, oversight, and quality control to junior staff members.

Prior to joining Creek Run, Mary worked as a Vector Control Assistant with the Blackford County Health Department and as a Field Biologist Assistant with the Bureau of Water Quality in Muncie, Indiana.

Mary’s hobbies include gardening, fishing, and generally any outdoor activity.
