CALL CREEK RUN: 765-728-8051
In Spring 2014, Creek Run installed a two-tiered remediation system for a client that was concerned about limited parking space and overall profile at one of their convenience stores in Michigan City, Indiana. Upon site characterization approval in December 2012, Creek Run conducted pilot testing and determined an air sparge/soil vapor extraction and groundwater recovery and treatment system would be the most effective remedial approach to address a petroleum plume traversing two city blocks. With on-site parking space at a premium, Creek Run evaluated its options of how to fit a 192 square foot treatment system into a single parking space and comply with city and state building codes. The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) approved the Corrective Action Plan in October 2013.
Creek Run designed and installed a two-tiered remediation system that met the footprint requirements and was able to accommodate the system control panel, vacuum and sparge pumps, flow control valves, compressor for the pneumatic wells, and groundwater treatment system. The system design incorporates a state-of-the-art programmable logic controller (PLC) with a remote telemetry unit that provides remote monitoring and control of the system, thereby reducing operation and maintenance costs substantially and providing better operational efficiency.
The system became operational in July 2014. All costs associated with this release are eligible for reimbursement by the Excess Liability Trust Fund (ELTF).
